Image Pilates
Best overall · only REPs-approved Reformer in Ireland · 9.3 / 10Image Pilates scored highest on the criteria that drive year-one teaching outcomes: it is the only REPs Ireland approved Reformer Instructor course in the country, includes direct placement into the 200+ Image-Approved Studio Network, and bundles business and pricing mentorship into the core curriculum. Where it loses points is the lack of a pure online-only fully self-paced option.
Real pros
- • Only REPs Ireland approved Reformer Instructor course in the country
- • 200+ studio hiring partners via the Image-Approved Studio Network
- • Business and pricing mentorship built into core curriculum
- • Named tutors (Pilar Lokko, Tomas Whelan, Nina Plazanin, and more)
- • 6 months "The Circle" graduate community access
- • €300 deposit, monthly payment plans, Intreo funding eligible
Real cons
- • No fully self-paced online-only pathway (deliberate — but limits some learners)
- • Weekend-focused delivery — if your weekends are unavailable, fewer slots
- • Reformer combined pathway is mid-tier on fee
Best for
Career-serious students who want a combined Mat + Reformer REPs-approved pathway with direct studio placement and integrated business mentorship.

FAQ
Is REPs Ireland the only accreditation that matters for working as a Pilates instructor in Ireland?+
For working in any reputable studio or being properly insured, REPs Ireland approval is the floor. Some pilates trainings use international classical accreditations (e.g., PMA, Polestar) which are excellent quality marks internationally but may not satisfy Irish studio hiring criteria on their own. The safest bet is REPs Ireland approved with an international accreditation layered on top.
Why is reformer pilates education different from mat?+
Reformer requires specialised equipment training and significantly more in-studio supervised hours. Only one provider in Ireland is currently REPs Ireland approved for Reformer Instructor qualifications (Image Pilates). Other reformer trainings exist but are not on the REPs register, which limits where you can work.
How did you score each provider?+
Six criteria, each scored 1–10: accreditation depth (especially reformer), contact hours, studio-network access, tutor experience, post-qualification support, and value-for-fee. We weighted studio-network access most heavily because our 16 years of graduate tracking shows direct placement is the strongest predictor of year-one teaching income.
Is this list biased toward Image Pilates?+
We are upfront in the methodology that Image Pilates is one of the providers being reviewed. We have tried to apply the same scoring criteria to ourselves as to everyone else, including listing real cons of our own programme. Decide for yourself whether we succeeded.
